ECAS training in 3rd ENES Workshop on Workflows

The ESiWACE "Centre of Excellence in Simulation of Weather and Climate in Europe" project is organising the 3rd ENES Workshop on Workflows. The main focus of the workshop is on workflow requirements, challenges, tools and solutions for scientific research in the climate and weather domains. An EOSC-hub team will deliver a training on the ECAS service to the climate community.

Second International PhD School on Open Science Cloud

The second International PhD School on Open Science Cloud will take place from 17 to 21 September in Perugia, Italy and will consist of a series of lectures on topics such as the world of Big Data, data acquisition, managing and handling, Cloud Infrastructures, etc. The school is organised to serve the scientific communities of High Energy Physics, Material Simulation, Meteorological and Environmental studies.

OPENCoast training event at the IMUM 2018 workshop

This international workshop on Multi-scale (Un)-structured mesh numerical Modeling for coastal, shelf, and global ocean dynamic will be held in Hamburg, Germany, from September 11th to 14th, 2018. The workshop is organized by the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology (Hamburg) and the Alfred-Wegener-Institut for Polar and Marine Research (Bremerhaven).

Planning early, following through: Data Management Planning in the EOSC

Data Management Plans are important for individual researchers, community or institutional data managers and fundholders. This training is aimed at people who support research projects or research infrastructures, they will be guided through real use case scenarios and the use of emerging DMP tools.

IT Security Management (ISM) in EOSC-hub: policies and global trust

This talk will take place on 11 October at ISCTE, University of Lisbon. It will present the developments made by the EOSC-hub security team in 2018, including the work on harmonising EGI and EUDAT policies and procedures, in collaboration with the EU H2020 AARC2 project, and streamlining security policies within EOSC-hub.

FitSM Foundation Training (DI4R co-location)

The training will take place in Lisbon on October 12 and is co-located with DI4R 2018. FitSM is the reference framework being used in both EOSC-hub and EOSCpilot projects, among other research infrastructures as well. This is one-day Foundation level course provides an introduction to the basic IT service management concepts and terms, outlines the purpose and structure of FitSM standards and their relationship to other standards, and details the formal requirements defined within it.
